ZED CANDY APPLICATION

Zed-Candy-Logo-drycooluk

Zed Candy Company in Dong Guang China have reduced their energy costs by 74%  in the manufacturing of Chewing Gum using a DRYCOOL DEHUMIDIFICATION AND COOLING SYSTEM

Drycool Specifications; ZED Candy

The Drying System

GENERAL
To supply and commission 4 Internal cooling units and 4 External condenser units, for the purpose of climate control and cooling of the air in the STORAGE AREA in accordance with the following design parameters:
STORAGE AREA dimensions: 440 M2 x 3.9 m high. Air Volume in the area: 1716 cubic metres

Water extraction of each internal machine per hour: 10 kg

Water extraction of 4x machine: 4x 10 = 40 kg/hour

Water extraction required from the hall: 57 Kg of water

Water extraction capability of the system: 57 ÷ 40 = 1.43 hour

This means that the total air in the room can be dehumidified once every 1.45 hours. Ensuring that the system can take
care of any eventuality.

AIR PROCESSING POWER OF THE SYSTEM: 4 units x 1 cubic metre per second = 14400 cubic metres per hour

AIR PROCESSING FREQUENCY: 14400 / 1716 = 8 Times per hour

This means that all the air in the room is processed by the system 7 times per hour

HEATING LOAD IN THE AREA

Air Enthalpy at 35 C and 95% RH  –  124/Kj/Kg
Air Enthalpy at 17 C and 45% RH  –  29kJ/Kg
Air Density at 35C and 95% RH  – 1.123 Kg /m³
HEATING LOAD IN THE AIR  – 1716 m³ x 1.123 Kg/m³ x (124-29) kJ/kg = 50 kWh
THE SYSTEM TOTAL COOLING  – 4 units x 13 kW = 52 kW

Therefore the system can cope with the situation, even if
there is one total air change every one hour

WATER EXTRACTION REQUIREMENTS BY DEHUMIDIFICATION

Condition of the air in the hall in a worst-case scenario: DB 35 ºC RH 95 %

Hall absolute humidity: 0.0346 Kg / Kg dry air

The density of the air in the hall:  1.123 kg. Mixture / cubic metre of air

The worst-case scenario of the water content of the air in the hall when it is not dehumidifier:  1716 cubic metres x 0.0346 x 1.123 = 66 Kg of water

Hall desired condition:  DB 17 ± 2 ºC RH 40%± 5

Hall absolute humidity:  0.0048 Kg / Kg dry air

Hall Density of the air: 1.21 kg. Mixture / cubic metre of air

The hall water content of the air when it is dehumidifier: 1716 cubic metres x 0.0048 Kg/kgx 1.21 Kg/ cubic metre= 9 Kg of water

The water content of the air which has to be removed by dehumidification per air change:  66 kg – 9 kg =57 kg of water to be removed in one air change from the air in the hall
